Lake Egypt

Lake Egypt is a 2,300-acre reservoir located in southern Illinois, near the town of Marion. The lake was created in 1962 when the dam on the Middle Fork of the Saline River was completed. The lake is owned by the Southern Illinois Power Cooperative and is used for recreational purposes, such as fishing, boating, swimming and camping. It is home to a variety of fish species, including largemouth bass, crappie, and catfish. There are also several parks along the shoreline with boat ramps, fishing piers, and picnic areas.
